I am in a school and we are just beginning to evaluate Windows XP for use in our schools. Obviously, we don't have one computer for each user, all users sign on to any machine they can find or machines in the classroom they are in. Each student and staff member has his/her own account.
In Windows XP, it seems to be required to have a local account to be able to log in. I'm sure that works fine in a corporate environment where one user pretty much uses one machine. But we don't work that way!
We turned on the guest account, but then when a user who doesn't have a local account logs in, there is an extra screen that pops up asking for a local login name. This turns the login into a 2 step process :-(
Is there a way to login to XP in a Netware (4.11 and 5.1) environment WITHOUT seeing the local login? JL Filler,Wilton Public Schools, Wilton CT
