I have a user who wants a chart to show a trend line
(just like on Excel....[bigsmile])

Does anyone know if such a function exists on BO v5.1?

to be specific it is a Linear trendline which Excel says is:-
------------------------------------------------------------
Linear

Calculates the least squares fit for a line represented by the following equation:

where m is the slope and b is the intercept.

------------------------------------------------------------

Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks,

Not in the standard product. There are lots of trending and smoothing capabilities in App Foundation.

Of course, if you know how to write the formula......

Hi Jim,

I have an example somewhere from - I think a German - company of an BO document that does exactly what you need.
It is from Mercury Business solutions GMBH, but I cannot recall how I got my hands on it.

Any way, the solution involves about using 20 or so variables to get the job done. It is a bit of a puzzle (but possible)
