Is there a benefit in the paid for versions of AVG

I am currently using AVG Free. I was wondering if I should stay with using the Free edition or should I go ahead and purchase the software. What are the benefits of the paid for versions over the free edition. And where can I purchase the AVG software.

Most users upgrading from AVG Free will see the most benefit by moving to a product like AVG Anti-Malware or AVG Internet Security.

The differences are quite substantial.

Both products referenced above add the following:

Potentially unwanted program detection in the AV Engine
Anti-Spyware Detection
High-Speed Updates
Advanced Configuration of Tests and Updates
Email Support

AVG Internet Security also adds the follow,
Firewall
Anti-Spam Engine.

It is important to note that the anti-spam engine is plugged into the email scanning components and will only tag emails as spam, and of course will only work with "real" email clients (not web-mail stuff). You can, of course, setup rules in Outlook, Outlook Express, etc to filter those tagged emails to a spam folder - thats what we do for our customers.

If you are just seeking to upgrade to the Professional Edition of the AV product, you will see the biggest differences in the areas of test/update configuration and support.
