Hi all,

We have an Option 61C that has been in place since 2000. The system was installed with all M3904 or analog sets. We are going to be installing a handfull of 2616 sets and I'm trying to set up one for testing. Does the 2616 have an issue with polarity? None of the 3904 sets has ever had an issue with polarity but while setting up a 2616 for testing I found I had to switch some jumpers.

Thanks,

Ed

Yes...Polarity is an issue with Digital sets.
Very easy fix, just flip the jumpers at the Block, it is easier to get to the frame than to open up a jack, sometimes they are behind a desk or book shelf

i am more surprised that 3900 sets are not polarity sensitive, i've never had a merridian digital that wasn't.. in over 25 years

Thanks guys. I checked with one of the techs and according to him the only time there has been a polarity issue is with a couple of 3902 sets that were installed a while ago. We have maybe 200 or so 3904s and they've never had any polarity problems.

Always something to learn.
