Is is possible to have the web site from one server interact with a database on another server?

Here is my situation:

I am running my site from two servers, mine, and then a friends. However, some people go to one, while others go to the other. This is a problem because to have access to the site, you must be authorized, and it stores your personal info on the database where only members of the site have access to it. however, one person may run a search for somone on one server, and that person's records are on the other server.

Sincerely,
Jim

TCP/IP through ODBC broadcast? What about MS Access?

If the two servers are NT and they are on the same domain, you should be able to reference the file from one server on the other. But Access is not a database server like SQL Server or Oracle, so if the machines are not in the same domain or do not have a trusting relationship, I can't think of a way to reference the file via ODBC. How would I go about setting up a "trust" relationship between the two servers? My buddy (illinois) and I (north carolina) are both learning while working with all this...learning a lot - fast....but still learning.
