Is it possible to convert an Access 2000 database to a standalone application...So it could be used by person without MS Access 2000 ?
If so...
Which application do I need...
And how do I do it...
Thanx!

Can it be done? Yes. What you need depends on which version of Access you have (97 or 2000). You're looking for "developer tools" or a "developer edition", and in particular the "Access runtime library". I suggest searching the Microsoft site. If you happen to have any third-party controls or ActiveX objects built into the application, you will also need a license that allows you to redistribute them.

How do you do it? Basically, these packages include a wizard that walks you through the process. In the case of Access 2000, you run a tool called the Package and Deployment Wizard, which builds an installable copy of the application in a folder or on a CD (the Access runtime would take many, many floppies, so floppy disk distribution is not available). Your users can then install it by running a Setup program, just like other applications. Rick Sprague

Thanx...but the only developer´s ToolKit I can find is the one for Access 95.
Microsoft Access Developer's Toolkit

I cant find anything on Access 2000.
Please help me find the one suited for the 2000 version of access....

If you have Office 2000, you can add the developer tools by purchasing the Office 2000 Developer Tools product for $399. I wasn't able to find an upgrade specifically for Access 2000, but the Developer Tools package requirements list "Microsoft Office 2000 (any edition) or any VBA 6-enabled application". That should include Access 2000, it seems to me. Rick Sprague

OK...
that it would be...lets go shopping....thanx very much for the help! JZII
