Hi all,
I have a problem with a new video capture board that I have installed on my machine.
The card installed ok but is not displaying prview video properly.
Pinnacle tech support state that this problem could be caused by the fact that the board, sound card and graphics card should all have unique IRQs assigned. My system only has three PCI slots one taken by the capture card, one by the soundblaster card and one by my TNT2 Graphics card. Unfortunately the sound and capture cards seem to share the same IRQ (5) with three other devices, PCI steering and something else.
When I try to change the IRQs manually it states that this resource is not chageable for nearly all the devices in device manager.
Can anyone advise how I can change the capture card to a different IRQ and what I could share the with as all the IRQs seem to be assigned

Im running Win98SE.

Hope this helps
John

John,

Go into System Information and determine which IRQs are being used. Select one that isnt being used and write the number down.

Reboot the computer and go into Windows in safe-mode. Go to Device Manager and select that pre-determined IRQ for the capture card.

Reboot the computer and see if it stuck. If not, you may have to do what I had to for a friend with a Canopus capture card, reformat and reload all the devices one at a time.
