Hello,

First of all I'm a total newbie at DNS, it's the first time I've ever tried to set up a DNS server and I'm completely confused...

I have an IPv6 network where the addresses can change over day. I now need to set up an DNS server so that the server can always return the right IPv6 addresses. It has to be an authoritative server for that zone and for all other zones it has an other server it can ask information from.

I don't know if this is important but I have to set up a DNS server on practically all my pc's, only one DNS server will work at a time but when the communication link between two pc's will fail there will be two different networks (with different IPv6 addresses) and there will be two DNS different servers, one for each network.

I hope this is a bit clear. Can anyone give me a tip an how to get started on this?

Thanks!

Steven
