Hi,
I was doing a research on the delay due to the fragmentation mechanisms in both IPv4 and IPv6 (PMTUD process)and i was wondering if there existed any real condition where the packets in IPv4 were being fragmented into two equal halves within the network. I believe that splitting the packets into two equal halves in the intermediate router can improve the overall efficiency (especially in terms of delay)
Can some one let me know if there exists any work that has proved the equal packet fragmentation in IPv4 network.
thanks
