Hi,

I have few questions regarding G650/G600 and IPSI card.

The system that I am using is S8550 with G600 (using Ipsi2 TN2312BP)

1. The IPSI card should be in slot 1 or 2?
2. If I configure the Card location (in the display of the card), the IP address of the card lost after 30 sec, but if I leave it in A00 (default), the display show “IP”, and the card work property. I know that in G650 I must set the Card location.
3. The type of the cabinet configuration (add cabinet) should be G650 or rack mount stack? When I configure G650 type, the card not shown in the correct slot.

Regards

the g650 should be a g650 type cabinet. The G600 should be a rmc type cabinet. I would put the ipsi in cabinet 2. Are you setting this 8500 up as an IP connect or multiconnect machine?

your system is currently set up as an IP Connect, so don't admin the LED. this can be seen by the "IP" that populates in the LED. what location does the card show up as when you set cab type to g650? the g600 does not support IPSI boards...

jaymzter, the G600 does support ipsi boards in slot2. That is how the the whole S8700 ip connect works when it first came out based on the G600 cabinets. I have them working at a site and no problems whatsoever.

The IPSI card for G600 is at location 2 and location 1 for G650.
The IPSI card will show "IP" if you configure it to use fix IP address and "A0" if you use DHCP.

If you go into a web browser on your s8500 and go into configure server does it say its an IP connect or multiconnect? IP connect you will normally telnet into the services port on the ipsi and set it whatever IP address you want. Multi connect you will "usually" use dhcp. But whatever you make the IP address of the board make sure you put that on the form when you administer the add ipsi command. Also make sure that you're ethernet ports are locked down at 100 full as well.
