Last weekend I upgraded a server from NSBS 5.1 to 6.0. The most recent problem I am having with this is to get Ippsrvr loaded with a web server working on the same server. My dilema is Ippsrvr and the secure web server both want to use port 443. There are TIDs to explain how to change the default secure port of the web server. But does this mean that every time I want to work secure on the web server I have to use whatever port assignment I decide to change it to at the end of my https:\\.... statement or will the web server and browser automatically know how to work secure for generic http type pages?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Susan, I have a suggestion for you. IP address and port management on Netware 6 is a complete nightmare. (They have improved this almost 100% on NetWare 6.5.)

Rather than try to make different port numbers, etc work, you should setup Secondary IP Addresses on your server. This way, you can have a different IP Address for each service, and you can use port 80 and 443 for each service on the different IP Addresses. By using the default port numbers, it is much easier for you and your browser to deal with.

Plus, it's not really that difficult to setup. You just have to configure each service to listen on the different port numbers.

This TID shows you the syntax: .

Then try this TID for how to configure your IPRINT:
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your info.

You are probably right about the secondary ip addresses. I read the links you sent me and some of their links. With the use of a secondary IP address do I have to make another IP certificate associated with the secondary IP address to go on the HTTPBIND line?

The reason we did not go to NSBS 6.5 at this client is because we do not have it installed here yet and we do not like to install anything at a client we are not running ourselves.

Yes, you'll need a certificate for each IP address. And then in the same config files that you configure the IP address, you'll change to whatever the cert is for that address.
