I have an IPOffice406 that has a Bogan paging system plugged into the ATM4U port of card 2 on back of the IPoffice. The EU is no longer able to access the paging system through their phones. They enter #200 to make pages and get “number busy” when it is dialed. No changes have been made to the ipoffice or the paging system. I have trouble shot the paging system and found no issues.

I have tried different ports on the ATM4U card and I have tried the other ATM4U card.

Is there any programming to be done when I change ATM4U ports or is it plug and play? Should I be getting dial tone when I plug my buttset into the ATM4U ports?

Any suggestions?

ATM ports are Analog Trunk Module ports, that is they are where an outside line connect to the system.

They can be used for loudspeaker paging with an amplifier that has a setting for Loop Start, where the amplifier provides talk battery TO the phone system. Lacking that, an interface such as a PagePal, UPAM, TAM-B, or UTI-1 sits between the analog trunk module port and the amplifier input.

To troubleshoot, you should be able to put your butt set on the line cord that plugs into the ATM port, go off hook, and make a page over the loudspeakers.

You do need to make programming changes when switching the trunk port as well. It should be set to loop start (not ls caller id). Find your short code (#200) and see what line group id it is dialing out on. Say it is line group 20. You need to assign your trunk port to outgoing group 20 and remove the previous trunk port from line group 20. Otherwise, when you dial #200 it is still trying to go out over the original trunk port.

TouchToneTommy.

I did take the cable from the back of the IPOffice and put it in my butt set and was able to make pages. That is why I am ruling out the paging system as being the issue. And I do have voltage coming from the Bogan.

Telecomboy.

None of the sets have a short code. I was told by Catalyst that the #200 is a system feature.

There are no default system features/shortcodes with any # codes they all start with * :)

You need to take the trunk that you're going to use for paging, change the incoming and outgoing groups to something unique from all of the other lines. Make a shortcode with the feature of Dial, and the line group number. When you dial the short code, the system will go off hook on the specified line, and you will be able to page through the loudspeakers.

OK. Finally made it back onsite. I setup another port for paging, using you guys instructions and also the Avaya job aid I found online. I have everything set correctly, I go off hook on my phone, dial #200, I can hear the Bogan switch on, but no sound. I have my butt set monitoring the line leaving the port and going to the Bogan and I can hear that it is sending out the correct digits. I can dial #200 from my butt set and make a page.

Whats going on!!??!!
