We look after a IPO412 for a company (we didn't fit it) its version 3.0.
They have VMPRO running on a xp machine but need to put it on a windows7 machine.
Has anyone installed 3.0 on windows7 I tried it on my pc and it installed but I can't test it because I don't have a old IPO400 only IPO500
Thanks for any help

Install the 6.0 VM Pro, older isn't supported ( or doesn't work ) on Win7 if it is 64 bit.
It works fine and you can use the VM Pro client instead of remote in to the Server.

Better still, tell them it isn't supported on Win 7 and get an upgrade out of them.

IP412 will go up to R6.1 or get an IP500 in there.

Thanks Jamie Our sales guy as been pushing for the last 3 years but they are owned by a bigger company who wont do anything until it totally fails.

This is just personal experience and maybe I did something wrong, but if you are using a usb dongle on the pc you should move it to a serial dongle connected directly to the IPO412 (although I am not sure if the 412 has a serial connection like the 406) as the sentinal driver would not run properly for me on the Win 7 machine. Everything else worked great once I moved the license to a direct connect.

As said, the USB dongle does not work on Win 7 and a serial dongle has been end of sale a long time ago.
Thus if the have a USB dongle it will be a show stopper and they have to buy a IP 500 v2 or remain with Win XP.

Interesting If I remember right its a USB dongle, I'm going tomorrow so I will find out for sure tomorrow, you never know this might push them into a upgrade over 300 phone sight, so it would be a good one for us. Thanks for the advice guy's I will let you know what I find.

It is a USB Dongle so I have told him it will have to stay on xp he is going to put it to the head office hopefully they will think of the upgrade. Thanks for the help guys.

Although it isn't pretty, I have the USB dongle working on several Win7 machines. Don't remember if they're 32 or 64 bit. Had to install the driver, then manually start it. Also put shortcut into startup folder for times when PC restarts. Your customer should still upgrade..

You could try leaving the USB on the XP machine. Uninstall VMPro. Install VMPro on the Win7 machine. The IPO searches for the 'Rainbow Token' as a broadcast. Just make sure to change the XP's IP.
