IPO R9 VMPro - Need help

I am very new to VM Pro, and I am having trouble figuring out 2 things:

1) VM Pro AA is picking up after 1 ring. I need the phones to ring 3-4 times BEFORE the AA picks up.

2) Once a call is transferred to a user's mailbox, I want to allow the caller the option to transfer to another extension (like *8 on Avaya Partner system) or to transfer back to the main greeting.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

For the delayed auto attendant, I usually send incoming calls to the Main hunt group, turn Voicemail ON, X number of seconds, and in VM pro, use a Leave action for the Main hunt group to sent to the auto attendant module.

If you're running Intuity mode, *8 is already there, and remember that you have breakouts of 2, 3, and 4 which you can send back to the auto attendant or to another menu for dialing another extension.

Wild guessing:

1) (assuming your AA is in an Queued-module.) In Manager: Adjust the time for the 1st Announcement of the User (or HG) in question to 10-15 sec.

2) VMPro: Put a Menu-action in the Leave module of the User, set a timeout to go to a mailbox (or leave it open, it should still go to VMail), and make a dial input for breakout (0-9, * or #)

(I take it you have (or know how to) enabled the Queued and Leave start-points for the user in VMPro)

Kind regards

Gunnar

I'm running in IP Office mode - should I switch to Intuity mode (running IPO R9)?

Also, would you mind providing more detail about setting up the leave action? I had already already tried the rest of what you suggested about the incoming call routing.

Thanks.

OK, I figured out the first part. I set up a leave action on the 200 Main group pointing to the AA. A 15 second wait seemed to give it about 3-4 rings.

Still can't figure out the transfer out of an individual mailbox to another extension or the AA

The default breakouts are 0, 2, and 3 (I mistyped above). If you want them the same for everyone, go to the System form and the Voicemail tab. If you want them different, go to the User form and the Voicemail tab.

To get back to the auto attendant, make a short code, Voicemail Collect, "NAME_OF_AUTO_ATTENDANT_MODULE", and put that shortcode in the breakout.

I don't remember if IP Office mode allows *8 for Transfer from a mailbox, I know Intuity mode does, and since most of my customers are coming from legacy Avaya systems, that's what we use.

use Intuity mode if you can (*8 only works in Intuity mode) or see security FAQ to avoid being in trouble

I will try some of your suggestions tomorrow.

With regards to Intuity mode, is there any disadvantage of switching from IP Office mode? Am I correct in assuming that VM Pro will not auto detect the users and groups from IP office if I change it, as it does with IP Office Mode?

As for the transfer out from an individual mailbox without Intuity mode, it can be the same for all users. Two options would be transfer to a specific extension (i.e. "I'm out of the office today, but press XXX to transfer to Bill Smith") or, if that's not possible, transfer back to 200 Main so the phones ring again and AA picks back up if no answer ("press "0" to be transferred back to the operator").

Thanks.

use option 0 for all users and make option 2 to transfer to Bill Smith for the people that need it

Intuity also auto detects and if your names and greetings are recorded it will re-use them.

OK, got it solved for now. I created a second module in VM Pro called "ToExtension" with the following menu items:

Timeout - 4 seconds - goes back to 200:Main
Invalid - plays a prompt to try again, or press "O" for operator
0 - Transfers to Main group
20? - $Key to transfer to appropriate extension

Then, under system, I made the DTMF breakout "O" go to Main, and "2" goes to "VM:ToExtension"

I have not tried Intuity mode yet - I did not want to disrupt the phone system during business hours.

Thank you all for your help!
