We have been trying to setup for one of our clients the ability to transfer a call directly to users' voicemail without ringing the extension. Our config is IP Office 500 V2 R9.0.5 with VM Pro in IP Office Mode. Extension numbers are 3 digits starting with a 2.
I have read through many threads and other technical tips, and all seemed to offer the same solution. Accordingly, I tried setting up a shortcode as follows:
Short Code: #XXX (also tried 7XXX)
Telephone Number: #N (shows upo as "#N" after saving)
Line Group ID: 0
Feature: Voicemail Collect
Person answering the call hits Transfer # (or 7) and the 3-digit extension number of the user. Instead of going directly to that user's voicemail, the call goes to the VM Pro mailbox login, prompting for the extension number and password. Some posters suggested hitting Transfer again after the extension number, but that did not work either.
Other tek-tips posts suggested using Visual Voice to accomplish this transfer to voicemail, but I am not clear on how to try this. The customer is using a mix of 9508's, 1416's, and 5520's.
Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
