Customer purchased a IPO basic with TCM-8 module using existing 7316E sets. They ave three POT's lines appearing on eight sets. Embedded voice mail AA will only answer when set for 0,1 or 2 rings. If we set it for 4 rings, a voice mail box in the system answers sayin mail box not set up ???? Upgraded from 8.1.43 to 8.1.67 per Avaya. No change. Call coverage destination on all three trunks are set to "none".

I can load customer configuration into a 8.0.18 with Avaya sets and all works as it should.

Have not tried removing all lines from sets except for the ATC since customer wants IPO to act as a BCM50.

Any buddy run across this one.....Going bald

Are you sure it's a system vm that answers?
It might be a telco vm

Good point.....Customer had a BCM50 Rls 1 that died. I installed temp BCM50 and no I had AA set to 4 rings and working prior to IPO Basic.
I do notice when you call in, line keys flash twice prior to ringing in(Ring set for Immediate on all lines)on set. Might be they have been paying for external VM for years ????

the IPO lines with caller ID add 2 rings so you actually have 6 rings before the AA picks up
omer99 is most likely right and it is some kind of call answer feature on the line, usually you can delay that with a feature code on the line.

Thank you omer99 for pointing me out of the box.....Customers existing BCM50's AA picked up in four rings. Call ID requires 2 rings to be displayed. IPO caller ID flashes phones twice + four rings to AA = 6......Customer had a external voicemail picking up in 5 rings. Mystery solved
