Hi
This is not so much a question, but an answer to the following thread - thread1613-1619709
"..I am attempting to install Phontage ver 5.1Ad onto a PC running Windows 7 Professional. The PC has never had a Phontage installation before. I am selecting the deluxe option as I wish to use the complementary licences available on the iPECS. No matter what I try, the installation always reverts to Basic, so the complementary licences are invalid. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, deleting the folder remnants after uninstall, clearing out the registry, changing the install path, but despite selecting the Deluxe Option, Phontage always installs with the Basic Mode.
Are their any pre-requesits as far as PC specification and/or software (Outlook etc) to enable the deluxe install?..."
We had exactly the same problems with our MFIM/iPECS and phontage... searching on google that thread was the first thing that came up. It is apparently closed, but this is the solution:

Phontage has a bug that means it will not work correctly on Windows 7 Pro. I know it works fine on Ultimate, but unsure about whether the problems exist in Win 7 Basic.
Deluxe will appear to be Basic if you do not follow these steps during install:
1 - download latest package from website, and extract from zipped folder
2 - right click on setup file, properties, compatibility
3 - select to run as windows xp sp3, and tick run as administrator
4 - install software
5 - right click on desktop shortcut, properties, compatibility
6 - tick run as administrator
7 - open software and continue as normal
Following these steps you trick Phontage into running the Duluxe version. By changing the shortcut back to running as normal (ignoring step 6) the software runs as Basic again, resulting in you being unable to log in to use the free licenses... Changing it back again, it works.

My answer is being passed onto the software writers by the phone company we deal with - maybe they will be able to patch future versions to fix it.
