I have a small network of 5 machines. One of which is an XP Pro machine that has complete network access. However, while using the financial package that's located on another machine through a client application it tends to drag. The host machine is windows 98 and the error I'm receiving on the XP machine is "IPCONFIG.EXE - Ordinal Not Found". Other than this application everything is fine, internet access is superb and access to this same application from the other machines is perfectly fine. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Ordinal Not Found" usually points to a missing, corrupt or overwritten DLL. I don't know which DLLs belong to ipconfig though. You could -I'm not sure- try reinstalling the TCP/IP protocol.

Peace,

Step #1: Start, Run, sfc /Scannow
Have your XP CD handy. The error message indicates a versioning problem with either ipconfig.exe or winsock32.dll

Step #2: Run the WinsockFix utility described in faq779-4625
