There's a Dell Latitude C600 laptop with W2k, SP4 in the office that doesn't recognize the "ipconfig" command in the command prompt. All the other Latitudes in the office recognize the command without problems. I'm not sure what other commands it won't handle. What could be missing from this computer? Is there something I could download from Microsoft?

You can download from Microsoft an alternative:
It may just be that the Enviornment Variable "Path" is not set correctly.

right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Environment Variables, and in the lower panel Highlight the "Path" variable and make it exactly like one of your working computers. It can have more entries, but the beginning of the variable should point to c:\winnt;c:\winnt\system32 and other %SYSDIR% folders.

Thanks a bunch, bcastner. Exactly what I needed. You've been a huge help, once again. :)

It sounds like the path statement is messed up. Can you run the ipconfig command from the c:\winnt\system32 directory?
