Was on a phone and all of a sudden heard a popping sound coming from the phone and everything went down, the display on the phone went blank, so we rushed in the server room to find the IP office unit flashing red. We pulled the power cord and plugged it back in and the system rebooted and was back to normal. Any ideas as to what happened? The control unit is an IP500 V2 and the current Firmware is 9.0.5.0 Build 972.

Thank you!

It could be a bug but why pulluing the power?
It might be resetting on it's own and you could have broken ik by doing that!
It might be an idea to upgrade at least to the latest service pack for 9.0

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Sounds like the reason it was flashing red was it lost power. this is normal during the boot up process. As tlpeter stated you need not have pulled the plug and the system probably would have come up on its own. If the lights were solid red and stayed that way that is a different issue. This sounds like you lost power and the system rebooted.

What are solid red lights indicate?
