I need some information from a company using Nortel CS1000 with multiple sites with IP connectivity. Basically what I would like to do is talk with an onsite tech on an informal basis to discuss any issues, problems, what you like, what you have concerns about. I really don't want a vendor as we already have the systems in place and a good vendor relationship. However, we are looking at expanding and would like to be aware of the challenges ahead of us. Let me know if anyone out there is willing to talk.

What type of environment do you have besides the CS? Or are you planning on pushing VoIP from the Sig. Server across the network to remote site and have phones plug directly into network switch vs. terminate to BCM, Option etc?
The biggest issue to me is make sure your network guy knows his stuff. Mostly on the security side. If your infrastructure is good and not heavily hit with traffic, you should be ok. If your network is overworked, and not robust enough, you may experience issues with call quality etc. I currently have opt 61, sig server etc, tied to remote sites with BCM's on the other end. So far to date, no issue with call quality, setup or teardown, and the users like the streamline look of the phones. But then again, that is the advantage of having a CISSP network guy in house that knows his stuff.

We currently have a Nortel CS100MSG 4.5 in our main location with 2 1000B's, 3 Option 11's, and 2 SRG's all with signaling servers. Our IP phones are really not the problem. The problem we are experiencing is more with stability of the Sig Servers. We have 4 locations where we have had to replace the servers because of hard drive failure.

The reason for the request for info is that our owner wants to explore Cisco as a solution. We are putting in a Cisco system in a small location as a test and will tie with via QSIG to our Nortel platform.
