Does anyone know the best way to setup Avaya IP Softphone to work best away from the local office? I have really only one problem that I am trying to resolve. When using Road Warrior and logging into the system at work, what is the best approach- log into the IP server or IP hard phone. I have a 4612 IP telephone in my office and when I log into my extension I am prompted and asked "Would I like to override that association?" I can "ok" and take over the extension, but when I close Softphone my IP Hardphone in my office is "Discovering" and never reboots.

I also have this problem, when it says discovering if you press # the phone will reboot.

My guess is it would be an IP Firmware Issue... What version are you currently on?

I am running 1.8.1 firmware, which is the latest. Actually, I spoke to Avaya just yesterday and they gave me some indication that it may be the software. Communications Manager 1.3 is suppose to fix this issue according to Avaya- but it's always a software for firmware upgrade!
