IP Softphone Connect via VPN issue 1

I have a user that was working fine. Recently they've complained of not being able to connect via VPN to the IP Softphone. I updated the software to latest version and still same results. It just hangs with the status bar....

I had them try and connect to another switch (S8300) on the network through VPN, and it worked. It just won't connect to this particular S8700.

Here are 3 different attempts...

Do you have any other users connecting to that clan board? Can you connect to that clan board with your softphone and successfully complete a call?
 
I do have others connecting to that board. I can connect successfully as well. I configured 5 phones the same. I have them all attempting to connect to the same IP address (CLAN).

I have 5 CLANs - 3 in NetRgn 3, and 2 in NetRgn 1.

When they are trying to connect, the status bar will attempt to connect to each one... but without success.

It only seems to be failing over VPN. If I try it from their particular machine on the LAN - it works fine.

I have the same issue with Comcast users only. The users on Charter work fine. At one time I did get one of the Comcast user's IP phone to come back online by cycling power to the cable modem. However, this user only worked for a month and it was back down again. VPN is still established but IP phone will not work (Softphone or hardphone).

Changing out the cable modem may help also. However, this only fixed my other Comcast user for a week.

They are using Comcast.

I will her try the reboot of the Cable Modem.

We've found problems connecting via VPN if the user has a personal firewall on their machine. We use Sygate, and have had to have the administer create special exceptions if the user is using IP softphone with VPN.
 
After a reboot (completely unplugging all cables to modem) and waiting for 2 minutes then plugging everything back in. Problem cleared.

We may have to revisit in the future, but it got them up and working.
