Just went from R8 to R10. It's my understanding that the same 799C clan used for the audix link can be used for SAT administration and a seperate CLAN is not necessary. I see the IP-Services screen to setup SAT as an IP service. What else is needed? Do I need a seperate node-name/Ip address than the one that's already setup for the audix link or do I use the same one? -CL

You need to have a node name defined for the clan board/ip address.
You just add the node name and select a port in the ip-services. If you are using DSA, just enter the IP address of the CLAN board along with the port that you selected (usually in the 51xx range).

The IP-Services screen is what you want. Add the service type SAT and the UDP port to connect with. It will not let you use the usual port 23 for telnet, you must select some UDP port between 5000 and 9999. You can now telnet in the Definity but you must use the UDP port specified in the services form.

There is a document that describes all the steps you have to take (with screenshots) to setup your SAT connection.
When I have some more time I will try to locate it.
Be aware that when you have in your IP-Services already an entry that uses a name, you also have to enter the name of your PC in the IP-services. That also means that your PC has to be known in the node-names ip and thus have a fixed IP-address.
If there is only an entry in the IP-Services that says "remote node" any, you don't have to be worried about having a fixed ip-address for your PC
IP-services will look like this:
IP SERVICES
Service Enabled Local Local Remote Remote
Type Node Port Node Port
SAT y clan 5023 any 0
IP-interface like this:
Enable Net
Eth Type Slot Code Sfx Node Subnet Gateway Rgn
Pt Name Mask Address

and the entry for the node-names-ip like this:

All you have to do further is to add a datamodule for the ethernet.
This will work for a SAT connection for BCMSVU and/or DSA/ASA.
