Just installed some ip phones on our ip Office locations. We have 3 areas two with Ip offices one with a definity switch.

Just to sum up the problem we are seeing, we are unable to call the new ip phone ext from the definity switch the phone ring but no party can hear one another, however the ip phone can call the definity switch and everything is ok.

Also from ip office to ip office the calls go thru and voice is carried over.

Note the ip offices have been online for a couple of years now with no problem, the cahnge we made was adding the Ip Phones to some locations.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

sounds like a networking issue.

the RTP stream isnt making it to the handset.

do you have direct media path enabled on the handset? if so, turn it off.

That did not work unless i have to go thru and program the phone again?

Do the changes i make in manager automatically go thru to the phone?

I did that.

Iwas just wondering after thet change do i need to re program the ip phone?

No you don't

Depends on the version hsm
Only the latest version can be merged when you change an extension

ps your name is too long :)

You can check to have the same codec everywhere:
check in Extension you have the same for all phones! (It doesn't matter if it is automatically or something else. Preferred is G711 or G729, NEVER G723)

This way you will avoid any codec conflicts although it should work whatever you will do in the codecs area (the callee will decide the codec from the list)! You cannot put a single codec for a H323 Avaya Phone, you can only select / change the order of the codecs! :)
