Hi All

I'm having intermittent problems with users on a S8300, G350 setup where a users phone will ring but there is no display information and no flashing button next to the main line to indicate a call. The call cannot be answered on that phone. Sometimes the display will start working after 3 secs and they can answer the call but other times they end up reseting their phone.
Another issue is the phone locks up after dialling the first few digits and doesn't return to a normal state for 2 to 5 mins. The phone can't be used during these times.
Also on the Network ports that the phones are connected to there Undersize errors showing. As per Fa0/9 below..

Port Align-Err FCS-Err Xmit-Err Rcv-Err UnderSize
Fa0/1 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/2 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/3 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/4 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/5 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/6 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/7 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/8 0 0 0 0 0
Fa0/9 0 0 0 0 628351

The errors only show on ports where a phone is attached..

Any ideas??

thanks

Do you have any duplicate IP address on your network? Have u tried loading a patch or ur S8300?

There's no Duplicated Registered IP Station address's but will check with networks for anything further..
the S8300B is on HW04, FW001

Check ethernet port is nailed down to full duplex/ 100MB /non negotiation otherwise may get a mismatch which can cause these issues. Do you have seperate Voice and data VLAN's set-up?

Will double check that as well..I know the phones are running at 100Mb full and was informed by networks that they were set to 100Mb full as well.
Yes we are using seperate Vlans for the Data and voice

You need to check the values for PHY1STAT in the 46xxsettings file and verify it matches the programming of the data switch.
Also, have you upgraded the phone firmware?

Will check the PHY1STAT settings. Firmware is still on 1.1 which is the same as phones on our other sites which work fine with no errors
