I have a 4624 that is dropping and resets during a call. I have not seen this on any otner stations. Does anyone have any troubleshooting steps to find the cause of this.

The phone will go dark, then ****....LOADING and go through it's DCHP requests., etc.

TIA

Try changing the Cat5 Cables, hook that phone up to a port on the switch that is known good with other phones, etc...

Rule out anything that is in the path of the phone to the definity, if it still does it after that, I'd say its a bad phone...

Thanks. Done that...looking more for what to look for on a trace.

You could do a list trace station XXXX or do a status stat XXXX and see if that tells you anything..

But if you've tried all those other things... I'd say its a bad phone.

Using inline power?
Check for the consistency of the 48V voltage on pin 7 and 8
of the RJ45.
looks like your power is dropping, or surging..
If you got a nice consistent 48V, your stabilizer circuit in the phone has probably died.
Also check if your cable is is not wrapped around a mains cable somewhere.

I swapped out the phone and it still happened (only at this one extension). The power "browning" may be a possibility. I'll swap power supplies (not using in-line) and see what happens.
