IP Phone Dial-Tone too loud

I switched a guy from a 5410 to a 5621SW. He now complains that that when he dials either from the speaker or the headset that the dial-tone is too loud and distorted. He has to lower the volume, then when he gets the other party on the line he has to raise the volume so that he can here well.

I must admit that I have noticed the same thing on my IP phone but just sort of put up with it.

Is there any setting that will adjust this?

Have a play with the AGC setting and CODEC to see if they make any difference.

If not, then he's stuck with it. I've never noticed myself.

If the 56xx is registering as G729 then it can sound a bit distorted and will sound much better on G711. This will use more bandwidth though and could have an effect on VCM usage depending on your config.

Football is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Perhaps he should do some work and stop sitting around listening to dial tone all day?
