We installed a IP500 4.24 recently with couple IP handsets 5610(v2.887) in remote site. IP handset always cut off call or unregiester itself after about 10mins. It displays discover 192.168.30.200(which is IP500). IP handset was manually configuered with static IP address (192.168.50.6).
Customer has existing VPN.

Does that sound like VPN issue or IPO not configured properly?

Sounds like a port is blocked - which implies the issue relates to your VPN.

I think port 1720 being blocked.

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

IT guy told he didnot block port 1720. I send him a list of ports which IP Office use.

when the IP Phone was off the Sys mon has follow information:

1119075900mS H323Evt: found number <222>
1119075900mS H323Evt: RRQ --- CallSigProtocol is H323AnnexL_P. Go for Avaya 4600IP phone
1119075900mS H323Evt: RRQ --- Treat this as a forced login, the phone was probably rebooted (same_cs_addr 0)
1119075900mS H323Evt: GK: Unregister endpoint xxxxxxxx_48c78f8d3e1c6940 for extension 222

The phone looses it's registration
Then it goes into discover and reboots to try to register again

There is something blocked otherwise it would work

I have send the port list to IT guy, but he told there is no way to modify port settings inside the VPN.

When I installed this IP500, remote site cannot ping IP500 untill I changed the firewall profile on IP500. After I changed IGMP from drop to bothway, I can ping IP500, and IP handsets can logon, however just saty for about 10mins.

anybody know when and how the firewall profile on IP500 work?

another sysmon I can see

1119075524mS H323Evt: RRQ --- keep-alive rejected (endpoint is currently not registered)

I never use the firewall on the ipoffice
This is only needed when you use it as the actual firewall wich is not the case

This is really a timeout issue within the vpn

Set the vpn timeout as high as possible

Is it possible that maybe you dont have the correct IP route on the IPO.

my IP route is:

IP Add -0.0.0.0
Mask -0.0.0.0
Gateway - 192.168.30.254(router address)
IP500 LAN1- 192.168.30.200

remote site router- 192.168.50.254
remote site 5610 address- 192.168.50.6

to tlpeter

I never use the firewall on the ipoffice either. I cannot find out why I cannot ping IPO from remote site, but can ping any computer in IPO site. The 5610 at remote site all display discover 129.168.30.200, then I started to play around with IPO config. When I changed IGMP to both, remote site IP phone working straight away, then I can manager IPO from remote site. I am very confused with this as well. Before I changed firewall profile, I cannot even manager that IPO from VPN.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have two 4620's doing the same thing except they are on the same subnet!

Yes, It solved.

IT guy changed VPN router. When I ask him unblock the ports avaya required, he told me he cannot config too much with Netgear router. After he changed to Dreytech VPN router it works. But customer also upgrade their ADSL to dedicate 2M at the same time.

It still like block ports issues for me.

Exactly, same with me. VPN router's firewall block the ports Avaya need. I think mattKnight and tlpeter answer are correct.
