We have been having issues where our VM will just go down randomly. We either have to reboot the VM Pro Server or stop and start the VM Pro under control panel - services. We were originally running 4_2_24 but were told to try to upgrade. We have been running 4_2_30 for a while now and our VM is still going down. I checked the System Status today and it showed right at the time the VM went down under Alarms-Services: The following system resources were all in use - Voice Mail channels. There is another line on the same screen that says: The following licenses are all in use: License type VoiceMail Pro (4 ports). My question is what is the difference between these two lines? If all VM channels are in use, why doesn't the VM just come back when the channels become free. We also have to reboot.

Those alarms have been generated becuase the system lost the VM connection, the VM connection didn't drop becuase of the alarms. Basically something is causing it too drop, is there a conflicting IP address somewhere?

There is no conflicting IP address. The VM Pro is statically assigned.

Are you running DNS Server on that PC?

What system is it 403,406,412 or 500. If not 500 what type of licence dongle do you have USB, serial or parallel? Also is this about every two hours or so?

Obviously it's not a 403...ooops :-)

Yes DNS Server is running on the PC.
It is a IPO 500.

Disable DNS. Windows server reserves something like 2000 ephemeral ports when DNS server starts up. Quite often one of those is 50791 which is used for VMP.

If that fixes the issue you can use the link below to reserve a more appropriate range of ports.

I aplogize. DNS server is not running on the PC. What else could it be?

Do you have Microsoft updates diabled? If not they need to be as they will often cause VM to shutdown :-)
