I cannot get the click to call from Outlook 2007 to work. I ran the setup.exe file from the User 4_2_52. Everything installed properly and it asked for IP office details, username, password. After it installed it asked to restart. On restart, I can go to Phone and Modem then advanced and I see the Avaya IP Office TAPI2 Service provider. If I click configure, I see all the details - switch IP, user, etc.

If I go into Outlook and go to contacts to place a call, when I click on dialing options, the IP Line - Extension is not present. It wont allow me to select anything for Line Properties. I have done this plenty of times before with no issues.

I have de-installed/re-installed a few times now with no luck.

Any ideas?

Click on Start>Run and type dialer.exe
Test the TAPI line if it works the there is a problem in MS Office.
I have seen occasions were the IP Office line is not shown in the dropdownbox in MS Office but if you see the drop down box press the arrow down key several times and it will show up the Avaya TAPI line.

weird, I never have a problem with TAPI.
I run MS Windows 8.1 64 bit with MS Office 2013 and TAPI works fine.

Did you adjust firewall settings ( I think so but just asking )
Maybe you can find something usefull with one of these tools

Remove the Tapi 2 provider from the list of providers.
Then reboot the server.
Add the Tapi 2 provider and reboot again.
Then try again.

Tapi on a 64 bit computer can be a bit picky.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks Intigrant. Do you know which tool we should try?

Tlpeter - when we remove User Suite from Programs and Features, it also removes TAPI2.

Ofcourse it does but i did not tell you to do that :)
Are you installing it with Admin rights?

Yes, we are installing with Admin rights. I have also tried removing TAPI2 from Phone and Modem then advanced - Avaya IP Office TAPI2 Service provider. Rebooted and re-installed and still no change.

I have found TAPI to be increasingly a PITA, some folks have no issue and have their own sequence of installation etc, I have tried all posted here over the years and still get issues, so I try an avoid selling it as a feature/installing it :)
