Hello,

i have a new deployement of AVAYA IP Office R10.1 Server Edition , and the customer have already a SfB clients and he wants to use them as softphones and integrate them with AVAYA IP Office, the idea is to install the necessary plugins and do some config.

when i checked the documentation , they talk about the publishing of numbers in SfB clients on E.164 format , my IPO extensions range are 100-150 , and i didnt understand about the E.164 format ? what should i do ? and what i ask from the customer to provide me to best practice configuration ?

Best Regards

The plugin will not turn them into softphones, they will just control an IPO extension.

If you wanna use them as softphones there's a lot of ifs and buts.
It depends if they are using S4B on-prem or on O365.

yeah janni , i said it wrong , i will use AVAYA COMMUNICATOR AS softphones , and they already have SfB so i will install the plugin to control the IPO extension , but my question is about the E.164 format that should be done , its confused for me , do you have any idea about it/ configuration ?

E.164 basically mean all numbers should be in international format, it should already be so in S4B as that is the standard way to do it.

can you clarify me this one :

i have my IPO extentions range from 100 - 150 .

what should i do in the SfB config to say 'the user Mike with the number +14514xxxx is the same IPO user with extension 101'

In the plugin you enter which IPO extension you have.

S4B gets all numbers from AD, and that should have all numbers entered in E-164 format (internationl).
All dialing in S4B should be done in E.164 format or converted to E.164.
Communicator will convert E.164 to what is required from IPO through Dialing Rules.

janni , thank you for your suggestions , it works , i did figure out how to provide IPO extensions to SFB users .
but i have some questions if you dont mind to clarify:

Q1 : is there many limitation in this process of integration SfB and IP office Server Edition ? limitation like you cant perform a transfer call when u initiate a call from Sfb Client , or you can perform a conference between IPO users and Sfb users ?

Q2: is there any other method to integrate SFB with IP Office Server Edition ? the customer wants that IP Office users can join a conference made by SFB user or vice versa ?
