I am trying to add additional analog lines to my test system at home. I have an Obi Hai Google Voice adapter which allows a normal analog POTS phone to work. If I connect the OBi Hai google voice adapter phone cord to the phone system the line will work. However, every few minutes I will get an incoming call the rings maybe twice and then goes silent.

I have looked in the monitor and the incoming call shows up but I cannot determine what is making the line ring. I have seen a similar problem before with a verizon POTS line. I cannot remember what I did to fix it though. I am not sure what trunk settings I would need to change. Any ideas?

If I can get the obi hai to work, I can add analog lines to any phone system in a pinch as long as the internet works.

Sounds like a message waiting notification issue.
If internet is working why not a SIP account instead?

Can you expand on the message waiting waiting notification? The obi hai does relay new voicemail messages to POTS phones.

If that is the case, what could I do on the avaya end to prevent those notifications from ringing in.

Also, I can do a sip account but google voice quality is pretty good and reliable. GV also uses XMPP and not sip.

The FSK message waiting signal is interpreted as an incoming call. Get them to remove the voicemail feature and turn off the MW notification.
