From IP Address: Defines the starting IP address To IP Address: Defines the termination of a range of IP addresses To IP Address or Subnet Mask: The end of the IP address range can be specified by either entering the last IP address in the range or the number of bits in the subnet mask Region: Identifies the network region for the IP address range VLAN: Sends VLAN instructions to IP endpoints such as IP telephones and softphones. This field does
not send VLAN instructions to the PROCR (S8300 Media Server, S8700 or S8710 IP-Connect,
and S8700 or S8710 Multi-Connect), CLAN, and Media Processor boards Emergency Locaiton Extension: This field allows the system to properly identify the location of a caller who dials a 911
emergency call from this station. An entry in this field must be of an extension type included in
the dial plan, but does not have to be an extension on the local system. It can be a UDP
extension. The entry defaults to blank. A blank entry typically would be used for an IP softphone
dialing in through PPP from somewhere outside your network.
Thanks for the response. The answer I needed was in another thread. I didn't have page 2 on the ip-network-region completed. I was only trying to get traffic between regions 1 & 2 to use a different compression. I have no ip phones on region 2, so I don't think the ip-network-map would change anything for me.
