Looking to implement a wireless solution in our manufacturing facilities and warehouse. I have gotten mixed feedback on which solution has a better track record. Just wondering what you would recommend and what headaches or successes either solution has dealt you. We are running 406v2 currently on 4.0.7 and already have a wireless ip network in place.
Thanks!

Well we have a few IP Dect sites and they have been rock solid since install, not one fault. Have not used the WLAN handsets avaialable as yet.

We havent had any problems with our dect stuff (touch wood)

good chance to get off of 4.0 too.

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

for a wireless ip solution you will require QoS access points to support the SVP QoS applied to voice traffic by the AVPP. For a complete list of access points supported, go to:

If you don't already have APs on the list then IP Dect is the way to go. Better coverage, no issues.

Ipdect all the way !!!

If you go with IP-Wireless instead of IP-DECT, how do you handle security?
IP-DECT is easy, it's just DECT. This measn no security problems as long as you have every RFP inside the building (unplug the RFP and connect to hackers PC).
IP-Wireless needs the LAN to be connected to the IPO just as a user's PC with PhoneManager. This must be secured. You wrote there is allready a WiFi-Cloud in place. I hope it is on the 'untrust' side of the firewall.
And yes, IP-DECT is good.
