Hi!

I have a customer that only runs IP Dect 3720 handsets on their IPO v2.

They frequently use the absent features in VMPro, but the phone does not display a warning that absent is set.

I've tried altering the template for the phone, but no luck so far. It seems to me that Avaya/Ascom forgot to put in this feature in the software.

Anyone got this working?

Regards
Gunnie

They didn't forget it, they put it in the manuals. Its not supported on 3700 Series phones.

Terrific!

So the manufacture thinks that every customer will always remember that they activated absence... The R4 seems more and more like a step back.

Anyway, thanks for you response.

So because of you have sold something that is not possible the system is bad?

Did you know that it is actually a Tenovis T3 phone?

The first time is starts it is in German with a Tsomething number.

Well first of all, are you kidding me?
Tenovis T3 is not a dect handset, it's an old regular phone.

The 37xx phones are made by Ascom (model d41 and d62).
Ascom is not German, it's Swiss.

As for the selling something not possible:
I expected at least the most common features from a system designed in 2009.
It's actually the first phone I've ever seen that does not even have an icon for indicating that incoming calls are diverted.

First of all the T3 part should not be in here, that was for antoher thread.
I have worked with Tenovis so i now it is German and that it is not a dect phone :)

Most common features on an IPO does not mean that a rebranded dect system should it have too.
You knew that it is an Ascom system.
It is also documented.

Never assume that something works if you haven't seen it.

Never questioned you in the origin of the Tenovis, just added that Ascom is Swiss. (It wasen't very obvious that you mis-posted).

So I should expect that SD cards does not store information, since it's rebranded?

My point is that if a feature like absence is available, why not throw in a nice little icon to indicate activation?
The feature is built-in, so it has nothing to do with compability with IP Office.

But we'll find a way to get an indication, it's just going to be a bit harder than first expected.

Gunnie

Gunnie, do a feature request with GRIP.
That is the only way they probably will make it.
Right now Ascom has to build that, Avaya doesn't program the Dect system.
