Has any one tried to set these up through a VPN? Have a client with 2 remote sites and they want some cordless phones. I cant find much usefull info on this model yet as to how exactly the are connected to the IP Office and just wanted to see if any one had tried this? Thank you

just set the Base station up on the remote side and point it to the IPO as if you were doing a local install. as long as the networking is configured correctly it will work like a charm. Done one as a proof of concept from home to the office and there arent any issues.

Using VPN there is not specific setup as it's just seen as a standard routed network to the devices using it, if it doesn't work the VPN is not set up correctly or ports are being blocked. I have done this for a few customers, but it's the base station that goes remote not just the handsets obviously :)

Great thank you both. I figured as much if the VPN was setup correctly it should work.

The DECT phones do not require the AVPP right? Thats just for the WIFI phones?

Ok ignore me.

AVPP IP Address: Default = 0.0.0.0 (Disabled)
Where Avaya 3600 Series SpectraLink wireless handsets are being used with the system, this field is used to specify the IP address of the Avaya Voice Priority Processor (AVPP).
