IP Codec Set

Currently we are testing out the IP Softphones in Road Warrior mode. The IP Medpro board is installed. Can anyone explain the purpose/use fo the G.729 codecs. The calls go through using G.729 and G.729A but not G.729b or G.729AB? Any help is appreciated. TIA.
