Does anyone or has anyone ever encountered a problem where the IP address is assigned to the station but there is no default gateway listed?

It can be easily resolved by renewing the lease of the IP but I want it to log in properly... Is there a problem with DHCP?... any help would be appreciated

If there is no default gateway set up on the DHCP server, it will not assign one to the client. What are you using for a DHCP server? How is it configured? Does this happen only on a single client or all clients?

No need to reply... Thanks for your help... I figured out the problem.

So share the wealth. Someone else may have the same problem. What was the problem?

Well, it turns out I wasn't paying attention to the IP it was givin... It was 169.254.x.x which means it was set to autoconfigure the IP whuch means it wasn't giving out the IP at all... no real concrete answer other than to find a way for the computer to make a DHCP request at login somehow
