Hi, having 2 ip addresses in DC with 1 network card is ok [ponder]

Suggestions are very much appreciated.

What is the purpose of the 2 IP Addresses. Are both addresses int he same subnet?

Yes, same subnet. Because my supervisor configure that way. And ask him why but he told me that I can put how many IP I want. Any problem with that? or have 2IP address in 1NIC is none sense [ponder]

Honestly, I've never done it that way and I'm trying to figure out the possible advantages. I'm not saying it will cause problems, but I like to keep domain controllers as clean and simple as possible.

Be very careful if using a second IP on a DC it could cause issues with domain browsing. Make sure that there is only one IP being referenced in DNS for this DC.

My supervisor is using 2 IP addresses in DNS and also in DHCP... [ponder]

Thanks anyways..
