IP ADDRESS MAPPING (s8700)

I have an s8700 multi-connect config and we are thinking about doing QOS. Is it necessary or smart to use network regions and if so what role does address mapping play?
From a corparate WAN/LAN the voice equipment is on it's own vlan, so I guess my question is because I have over 25 EPNs.
(And in 9 months we will be IP connect.)

well, the ip adress mapping does mapping of ip-address ranges to vlans and ip-network-regions. When you are going to set up different ip-network-regions you can assign ip ranges to ip-network-regions.

Suppose you have an LSP on ip-network-region 3. The ip-range is 192.168.3.xxx After you filled in the screen ip-network-map the system knows that an assigned ip addres in the range 192.168.3.xxx belongs to the ip-network-region 3.

if the connection to the main server would be down, the system knows the ip-address belongs to the ip-network-region 3 and it will register to that lsp

this can not be done on the station itsself so thats why its in a seperate menu. altho you can put an lsp entry in the station formular you cannot enter a network region
