I have a customer with an IP 412 which we upgraded to 5.0 friday night. After the upgrade 1 of the 2 PRi's on the dual card (in slot A) did not come back. When I switch the cables, the issue follows the bad cable. The PRI vendor came out and tested clean all the way to the switch.
We plugged in a T1 tester and the good PRI and both PRI's showed up and we could make and receive calls on both.
Since it is an IP 400 there are no licenses needed for the PRI channels correct?
Any ideas???

tried reseating the card?

also try defaulting the switch and see if it shows up after a reboot.

The card needs to be in slot B if it's the only one in the system, for unknown reasons Avaya made that the first slot, put it in there and it should work fine, you must have been lucky to have no issue until now :)

What did you upgrade from?

If it was under V4.0, Check that you don't have an Argent Alchemy PRI card, which are compatible with IPO on versions below 4.0, but don't work after that version.

It was a common upgrade path, to swap out a base Argent unit, but retain the trunk cards, to save costs

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

HSM, i am very sure that 4.0 stopped supporting those cards.
Maybe they work on 5.0 but i would not take the risk.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Correct, they are not supported from V4.0 and I have tried them in legacy card carriers - and they didn't work. TBH, I don't think I ever tried in a 406 or 412

they dont work on 500 legacy cards, but work in 406/415 on rel 5, but rel6 they stop working in a 400/412

(perhaps Im merely basing this on Alchemy VCM cards?)

However, reading the initial post again...

Was there ever a dual PRI for Alchemy - I can't remember

The 412 unit was upgraded from 4.2 to 5.0 (26). I am going to try to swap the cards tonight and see if that fixes the issue. When I was troubleshooting I did put a single PRI card in slot B as well as have the Dual in slot A. When I plugged the PRI's back in, one port on the dual came up and the single card in B did not.
I then swapped the PRI cables and the single came up and the dual did not.

this realy sounds like a cable issue
how long is the cable & have you replaced it?

I do not Have A.D.D. im just easily, Hey look a Squirrel!

The cable is about 6 foot long and yes we have replace it a couple of times. The PRI vendor has tested clean all the way to the end of each cable so they say. I am going to do the swap from A to B tomorrow morning.

For testing save the running config to your desktop, default the config/system with the card in slot B, does it then work? Moving cards around in live system causes issues all by itself sometimes :)
