IP 406 Setup

Hi,

I'm a newby here so appologies if this sounds like a dumb question.

I have just bought a IP Office 406 from Ebay, it has been pre loaded with OS version 3. I have the IP addres and can ping the system, but thats about it....:-(

Only thing is i have no idea how to get onto the system, i thought i could Hyper Terminal onto it but it doesn't work. Unfortunatley i don't have the DTE cable and can only get to the unit via IP.

I presume i need some software ( Media server or Communication Manager ? ) from the looking around on the net.

Can someone let me know if this is right and if so where can i download it.

Instal the Manager:

Username: Administrator
Password: Administrator


Default password for the IPO = password

* be verry carfull if you try to use the DTE port.
It can be used to erase the current config & default the system, usefull if you do not know the ip address or password.

it can also erase the fiirmware from the IPO which can cause a bit of excitement if you do not know how to recover the situation (check the FAQ section for details).

Basic advise - the DTE port is the port of LAST resort.

Make sure you use the right version of manager that works with your version of ip office.

I'd upgrade the ip office to 3.09(59) or higher. I haven't used 3.1 yet, but you could try it if you want.

You also need to be sure to use the right version of manager to match the firmware version of unit. If you don't it does strange things when saving and opening the config files of the unit.
