I ran a DTE reset on an IP406 and then upgraded it to 3.2 firmware. THe unit boots I can log into it change programming, plug a digital set in and it gets tone and can make calls however the light on the front is still red. Not sure why its red if the system appears to be in full working order. Any thoughts?

Why did you need to DTE it in the first place? :)

The system would start to load its firmware which i watched on through a tutty session then it would reboot. It just continued to do this over and over so I wiped it out and uploaded the new firmware file. It appears totally operational gives out DHCP digital stations work the lan ports work it just has a red light on front. System status only shows an error of not able to reach the feature key server.

So it was broken out of the blue?
Then i would replace it, there is something wrong with it.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

does it start green & then switch to red?
i have seen box's where Avaya have fitted the LED backwards!

I would still request the unit is replaced to prevent confusion in the future.

IPGuru, I thought that I was the only BP to have seen this. It took me about 3 hours of troubleshooting until I figured out that the system was completely operational.

Yes it does start green and then go red. So I would guess that is the issue as the unit operates fine. I will see if I can reverse them then. Thanks for the help.

I would not recommend striping the unit down yourself to reverse the LED. if it is not to old report it as a faulty unit & request an advance replacement.
