I currently have a ip 406 with 3 expansions hanging off of it. I need to extend one of these via multimode fiber accross the street. Will it work using a 10/100 media converter between the ip406 and the expansion unit ? Any help would be great.

No it wouldn't!

The expansion-connection is not an Ethernet connection, and it's not possible to move expansion units away from the main unit.

It looks like your options are :-

1) fit a VCM in to the 406 & use IP Hardphones @ the 2nd site

2) Fit a VCM to the 406 & network to a 2nd IPO.
