S8300 SAT is on port 5023 (for ACM) and 23 (for Linux)
If you can ping the IOLAN from the linux interface then it could be an administration issue with the IOLAN. Check the settings again, maybe you missed something...
One question... Why are you using the IOLAN for SAT? It is usually used for CDR over IP.. for SAT you can just telnet to port 5023 (or 23) or use the USB modem for remote connection...
Just install Avaya Site Administrator to a PC that can communicate with the S8300 server's network and setup a network connection to the S8300. That will satisfy your customer as it is more simple.
IOLAN is used for CDR with S8300 as S8xxx servers do not have ports that give out CDR data. Your customer will ask you about CDR sooner or later so be prepared...
I have an Avaya S8700// we currently have an IOLAN+104 configured to run the SAT terminal on port 4 is set to connect to the CLAN port 5101... now we want to be able to add a couple modems to the IOLAN to have a dial-in connection... I want another way in besides the USB modem and the LAN access ( telnet ).. I have documentation on how to set up the port on the IOLAN I also have the pinout for the RJ45 to DB25 bable... where I am having trouble is the config of the modem.... when I plug the modem in the IOLAN locks up and the SAT stops responding???? Any ideas??
