I have a win98 workstation that is connected to our network.
I have the username and password set up in the active directory on our win2k server.
Periodically, the user will get the message "invalid password" and the password he is entering in is correct. If he re-starts his PC and then trys logging on again (with the same username and password that erected the error) he is able to sign onto the network.
This happens to him about twice a week.
I deleted the *pwl files thinking maybe that had something to do with the problem...but that didn't help.
Any ideas?

Maybe he is entering an invalid password...... Dodgy keyboard.....

Check the server logs. When he has this problem, are there any errors generated on the server? It really has the sound of user error (caps lock on or mistyping). Usually if there is a communications problem with that a 98 pc, it won't find the domain at all. Since its only one user, doubtful its anything to do with the server.
