Hello! I'm having a problem getting a one of my databases to work on another computer. I developed it using Access 97 on an Windows NT platform. But it will not run on Access 97 on Windows 95. The error message is "Invalid Database Object Error #3263, and clicking OK gives another message "Microsoft Access couldn't create storage space for a Visual Basic Module", and then another message "If database is on a network drive, check conections and try again. I've never encountered anything like this before. Any ideas?

Thanks!

It may be corrupted.
Can you open it still on the NT workstation?

try rebooting the '95 box and try it again without out opening any programs before it.

Also How much RAM is in the '95 box compared to the NT?

Office ’97 and 2000 love NT it works faster and better.

DougP,

Yes, it runs just fine on the NT system, so it's not corrupted. They tested it on two different machines, and the results were the same. This is a very small and uncomplicated database (it fits on a floppy), so I wouldn't think that memory would be a problem. I've hidden the database window, and gave them simple menu bars and no toolbars. They don't know about the F11 key or the shift key during startup, so I didn't put any more security on it than that, except that I also "hid" the tables, queries, etc. Would that make any difference? The '95 system is someone else's, so I don't know the specifics of their resources.

Thanks for any help you could give me!

The Microsoft Knowledge base (Q189361) states that:
When you try to open a database file, you may receive the following error message:

Invalid database object.
When you click OK, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Access couldn't create storage space for Visual basic module.
When you click OK, you may also receive the following error message:
Device I/O error.

you may receive these error messages if you try to open a database file that was created in a newer version of Access than the one you are currently using. For example, if you try to open the Northwind.mdb database that ships with Access 97 in Access 95, you will receive the described error messages

I'd double check to ensure that Access 97 is the version on the Pc you are getting the error message from.
