Invalid Bookmarks and Jet Engine Errors

I've got a form in my front end that has 2 subforms on it. On the first subform, when I put in the first line of data and move to the second line, it SOMETIMES gives me a "Not a valid Bookmark" error. Other times, it gives me the following:

The Microsoft Jet Engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time.

Most of the time it works like a charm. But some times I get either one of the above errors.

I'm using Access 2000 with the latest SR updates on it. The machine is Windows 2000, also with the latest updates on it. As far as I can tell this is the only form/subform that this happens on.

I've run jetcomp.exe but that doesn't seem to have any affect on this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Does it give you the ms jet error when you run jetcomp?
If it does, you might have a corrupt record. I just had my first experience with this recently. It usually happens in a memo field in one of your tables and it will say #Error. You will get the ms jet error whenever you try and do anything with this record. I have a utility that I got from a person in another forum that I can e-mail to you if you want it.

Can you send it to shorddpimp@yahoo.com

Did this utility fix the problem in your database?

Yes, all the utility does is loop through a table reading the records. When it comes across the corrupt record, you will get the ms jet message and you will see the primary key of the record that is corrupt. You will need to delete the record and reenter it. Any info you have in the memo field will be lost, but it is lost already. The way I discovered the table that was corrupt was by importing all the tables into a new database, and watching the status bar as it imported the tables. When it gave the ms jet error, I knew which table the error was in. I then used this utility to find the record. I deleted the record, re-entered it, and everything was fine.

Okay, if you want to give me the name of the utility I can find it. I'm onsite, so I'm in a bit of a rush.

This didn't work. The utility won't convert to the Access 2000 format. I'm still getting the error intermittently when I move from the first record to the second one. If there is another way to find out if there is a corrupt record is there any other way to find the corrupt record in the database.

Still getting the error message intermittantly on this machine. I've imported the tables into a new database and I get no error mssages.

Any ideas as to what else can cause this in Access 2000?

This client has forced me to upgrade to Access 2000 and this has been the biggest nitemare. If there are any more suggestions I would very much appriciate it.

I had a line of code that was putting the date and time into a Short Date field. If you put both the date and the time into a short date field could it possibly cause this problem.
