I have a G3r ver.11 with a intuity map 40 voicemeil system. everthing was working great until our IT dept changed out the network switch in the PBX room. now when you plug into the clan that is setup for connectivity to the map 40, after about 5 minutes the switch reboots itself. I have 2 clans, one is for admin, sys print, and cdr which works fine. The other is for the voicemail only. It work fine connected directly to each other with a crossover cable. I have the network switch port set for 100 full and the clan 100 full. It acts like a T-1 does when it detects hyperactivity and reboots the switch. has anyone had or heard of anything like this? Thanks

If u are connecting the INtuity directly to the pbx then u don't need a switch inbetween, as long as u are using the cross over cable.

you do if you use message manager. and also if you admin through the network. we do both.

try setting them both to 10/half and see what happens...

Woops, I misread your message, I understand now that it was working fine when direct connected using crossover, but u want to use message mangler(sic) and adment over the LAN, so need to be connected to the network.
I agree with buckwheat that 10/half and also gracefull reboot the Intuity. Make sure the Intuity is not set for "auto detect".
What "switch is rebooting"? IS that the network switch?

Well for now, I would reconnect it using the crossover cable and troubleshoot the PBX to see if there is something else going on. Look for alarm and errors right before it is going down. Has anything been changed on the PBX. Do 'list history'.
I have never seen a LAN connection take down a G3R, so that is why I am thinking something else is going on.

O.K. I changed the inutity server to 10/half and both clan's 10/half and had the network admin guy change the prots on the network switch to 10/half and everything is running fine. I talked to our IT dept head and he said he has had some problems with some of his servers if they are set for auto detect. I have a feeling if I set everything to 100/full it will work. But for now everything is fine. Hope this will help someone else out in the future. Thanks everyone who responded.

If both sides are set for 'auto detect' both sides will attempt to search and find a good baud rate, but will fail due to both sides ramping up and down the baud rate.
But even then, that should never take the G3R down, but it did, so either there is a massive design error in the G3R or u have something broken over there. Either way, if u ignore it now, it may take your system down later. If u have maintenance I would talk to AVaya about it.
